There are ongoing twice-monthly women’s circles, Q&A sessions, a monthly circle for women navigating perimenopause, as well as other classes to support women on their journey to wholeness, health, self-love, self-care, body wisdom, body acceptance, sexuality, hormones, periods, pregnancy and so much more.
“THE TALK”
As parents, we need to have “The Talk” about the Facts of Life with our daughters, but many don’t know how to approach it or what to say. Having the puberty talk as parents is daunting! Our daughters are dealing with more than they should have to as they enter this time of their lives, with all the media and social media messages and images that promote the idea of sexiness everywhere. How to talk to our daughters about puberty is something we MUST be able to accomplish and in a way that they will listen.
What I have learned from working with these ‘tween-aged girls” is that they are afraid to grow up and for their bodies to change into women’s bodies. The exploitation and denigration of women is alarmingly high, and we need to be able to provide our daughters with positive ideas and to present perceptions that will empower them as young women.
For this reason, this “Facts of Life” puberty talk needs to be one that teaches our daughters to be proud of being female.
